As air conditioner is the machine and like every machine it needs to be maintained periodically. High rate of usage and atmospheric threat make your unit corrode faster than AC present at any other part of world.
Dubai is the city where high rise buildings and ground properties both are present side by side. And both have this facility in its own capacity. High rise buildings have larger industrial units while the smaller properties have single units present. Both have specified tasks, specifications and maintenance strategies. According to the major manufacturers of Air conditioning units the units are tend to overhaul once in 6 months but according to the usage and atmospheric hit rate it is suggested to service your units at least thrice in year.
TYPES OF AIR CONDITIONERS:
In Dubai majorly two kind of Air conditioners are working according to the circumstances and area:
1. Central Air Conditioning
2. Split Air Condition

Central Air Conditioning:
In high rise buildings and malls like areas where the huge gathering is to be catered this kind of air conditioning is used. This is a whole system consists of a central cooling unit which chilled the hot air and pumped it through the vents to every part of the building another similar system is used to take out the exhaust air out of the building. The main chilling unit consists of a heavy-duty compressor which rotates the cooling agent in the core of the system in front of which a huge fan is present to pump hot air on chilled pipes which make the air condensed and cooled and then this chilled air is reached every outlet of the building through the network of ducts.
Usually, the main cooling unit is placed at the top of the building or outside the floor where natural air resource is available to pump it inside the vents and make your place cool.
Let us talk about the issues and problems faced in this kind of ACs.
As described above it just like a huge refrigerator and basic working is like a refrigerator and obviously, problems related to the refrigerator. So the main issue that is noticed inside this is the compressor issue where the compressor broke down and stop working properly.
Secondly, it may be the leaking of the cooling agent due to corroding of metallic pipes and their blocking due to humidity and sand infestation. GLPC has the best team of workers to fix these issues specifically and another one as required.
Split Air Conditioner:
In small rooms and for domestic use this kind of Air conditioners are extremely suitable. These units work in the form of two separate parts one is known as inner and the other is known as outer. These both units connected with metallic pipes mostly of copper. These pipes are fabricated with foam and tape because the copper is very good conductor of heat and the cooling agent may be loose it’s condense before reaching the destination. In these units the outer unit act as the central hub where all the core parts attached like compressor pumping motor and fan for extracting heat. Like the main unit of central air conditioning this unit also placed in open air.
Opposite of the outer unit the inner unit is much delicate having equipment of control like thermometer, Thermostat, Remote control ETC.
Like its nature its maintenance is also delicate and sophisticated having specialized skills and quality of work.
Major problems that are faced in these kind of machines are dusty filters where the covering filters are infested by sand dirt and other foreign objects which create a blockage for the air to be kicked off the room.
Leakage: The whole split AC runs on the exact rotation of cooling agent in the pipes and thin mesh of Inner unit sometimes due to heavy usage of AC the humid air made a thick layer of ice which can corrode the metallic pipes of cooling agent resulting the leakage of cooling gas and your unit become useless.
