Human Bird Flu Case in West Bengal
The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed a case of human infection with the H9N2 bird flu virus in a four-year-old child from West Bengal. The child was hospitalized in February with severe respiratory problems, high fever, and abdominal cramps, and remained in the ICU for three months before being discharged. This marks the second reported case of H9N2 bird flu infection in humans in India.
