Exploring Why the JonBenét Ramsey Murder Case Remains Unsolved
Patsy Ramsey had gone downstairs to start making coffee, but instead, she found pieces of paper scattered at the bottom of the staircase in their Boulder, Colorado home.
The letter began with the chilling words, “Mr. Ramsey, Listen carefully!” It was the note that would soon make Patsy realize that her 6-year-old daughter, JonBenét Ramsey, was not sleeping in her bed as her mother had assumed at 5:45 a.m. on the morning after Christmas
At 5:52 a.m., Patsy dialed 911 to report that her daughter had been kidnapped and that a ransom note had been left behind.
“It was just unbelievable,” John, now 80, said in Netflix’s new series Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey. He described feeling a “horrible, gut-wrenching trauma,” comparing it to the panic a parent feels when a child momentarily disappears from sight in a crowded place like a mall.
